Andrew Organ (1839-1881)

In 1841, Andrew was living at Nibley Mill with his grandmother, Elizabeth Organ, nee Cornock. Also in the household were her daughters Syble and Ann, both aged 30. Andrew’s mother, Hannah (aged 20) was living as a farm servant at nearby Westfield Farm.

Andrew had been baptised at the Congregational Chapel in the village in 1839, the child of Hannah Organ and Thomas Witts.

In 1844, Hannah married Ephriam Bendall. The couple had a daughter, Martha, but Hannah died in , aged. In 1851, Andrew, a labourer, was living with his step father and sister at Woodmancote, Dursley.

By the time of the 1861, he had moved to Herefordshire, and was living in Far Hyde Cottage, Woolhope, with his wife Elizabeth and 3-month-old daughter Hannah.

In 1871, Andrew (recorded here as Andrew Morgan) was living at Stores Brook, Ledbury with Elizabeth. They had five children, and went on to have four more. The family were still there in the following census.

Andrew died in 1881, aged 43.
