James (1834-1896) Baptised Ozleworth
William (1838-1854) Baptised North Nibley church
In 1841, James and William were living at Howley, in the parish, with their parents John (an agricultural labourer) and his wife Amelia (nee Workman). Their surname varied, from Mustif to Musty, but I have also come across Mustoe.
Ten years later, James was working as a farm servant at Burrowhill Farm and his brother was living in Wickwar with his parents. Amelia is often called Mary or Mary Ann in the records. James married Ruth Rice in Chipping Sodbury in 1854, when he was 20 and their daughter Emily was born in July the next year. In 1861 the family were living in Wickwar, next door to John and Amelia.
In 1871, it appears that Ruth has died. James remarried in 1864, and he is living in Holywell, Wotton under Edge, with his wife Elizabeth. Ten years later the couple have a daughter, Mary Ann. Sadly, Mary Ann dies aged 12. James is recorded as being a farmer.
Henry dies in 1896, aged 62, and was buried in Wotton under Edge churchyard. He left £136.
