In 1841, Henry and Elizabeth (nee Hadley) were living in Pit Court with their son Samuel, who had been baptised in St Martins, in the village. Henry was a labourer.
Sadly, Samuel died only two years later.
The couple had five more children, before Henry died in 1859. In 1861, his widow and their children were living with her father, Daniel Hadley, all paupers.
